Sure, the NFL playoff scenarios and college bowl season are highlighting the sporting landscape for the time being. And why not? It’s an exciting time of year, and certainly brings a lot of action to the table allowing sporting enthusiasts to cheer on their favorite teams – or simply watch their bitter rivals lose.

The NBA usually takes a backseat to any form of football this time of year, but that does not mean those tough working tall men are not still playing. Here’s a look of highlights from the past week in the league.

The Indiana Pacers are still hanging at the top of the Eastern Conference, although they lost to an unlikely opponent the Toronto Raptors last night. The Miami Heat have won two in a row, and are only sitting a game back from the Pacers in the standings.
In the West, the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder continue to jockey for the top spot as well, with records of 25-7 and 25-6, respectively. Portland, as mentioned in earlier news, is hanging steady as well in third (for now) with a 25-7 record as well. This NBA season might be one of the best fans have seen in some time, and although the playoffs are still months away, they are going to worth every penny of their ticket prices when the time comes.
